Clinton CFB Recognized at IFB Annual Meeting

The Clinton County Farm Bureau (CFB) was recognized at the 2021 Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB) Annual Meeting in December for winning a County Activities of Excellence (CAE) Award for Farm Income and Development.  This program area includes programs related to market information, risk management, agronomy days, livestock regulations, alternative agriculture, and more.

Clinton CFB submitted an award application under this program area for our Nutrient Stewardship Field Day in July.  Our in-person summer Field Day was probably the best attended event we have had in our 6-year history of the IFB’s Nutrient Stewardship grant program.  The combination of the in-person event and recorded content provided by IFB continues to be a bright spot for this effort.  The virtual and professional booklet components allow us to document and chronicle the research and efforts we’re doing right here in our county with the support of the IFB.  With matched IFB grant dollars and in-kind services, to-date our county has invested almost $180,000 in local nutrient stewardship efforts.

The Clinton CFB was thrilled to receive recognition on the state-wide stage this December, but we look forward to continuing to share ideas and information about agriculture and our environmental stewardship efforts in the coming year.
