Clinton CFB Donates $20,000 to Mater Dei Ag Program/FFA Chapter

Agricultural education options are getting a boost at Mater Dei in 2022.  The school established a new FFA Chapter in August and launched several new agriculture class offerings for the 2022 school year.  Leading the new effort at Mater Dei will be Erika Knolhoff, who will teach the new series of Ag classes and serve as the Advisor for the new FFA Chapter.

Erika and several of her Soil Sciences students from Mater Dei helped the Clinton County Farm Bureau’s Marketing Committee with their annual Yield Survey on the morning of September 6th.  Erika then provided an update on plans for Mater Dei’s new program at the Clinton County Farm Bureau board meeting that evening.

After an outstanding presentation to the Clinton CFB Board, the organization committed $20,000 to help with start-up expenses, supplies, and other resources for the new Ag program and FFA Chapter.  Erika’s passion and enthusiasm to hit the ground running with Mater Dei’s new offerings were very evident during the presentation and the Clinton County Farm Bureau is excited to watch the program grow and prosper in 2022 and beyond.
