2023 “Community Impact Grant” Recipient – Aviston Park District

The goal of Clinton County Farm Bureau’s 3rd annual “Community Impact Grant” program was to create partnerships with other groups and organizations for projects that would improve our communities.  For 2023, the Clinton County Farm Bureau awarded a total of $5,000 to three (3) groups to assist with these types of community projects.  This edition’s featured recipient is the Aviston Park District.

The Aviston Park District was awarded $2,800 for handicap upgrades at their park’s youth baseball, adult softball, and soccer facility.  Project volunteers continued to replace unlevel concrete around their facility and added a handicap-accessible bathroom.

Dennis Rakers from the Aviston Park District said “Aviston is a growing community.  Our park serves Aviston youth league, local travel teams, men’s softball, women’s softball, soccer, and other various events.  This facility is active 6 days a week in the summer and people throughout Clinton County enjoy our park facilities daily.  The league events are highly attended, and their family members have benefited from the upgrades!”

2023 was the 3rd year for the Clinton County Farm Bureau’s “Community Impact Grant Program”.  Participation for the grant program was down this year, only receiving three (3) applications that requested over $7,000 in funding.  With a total of $5,000 budgeted for the program, the Farm Bureau could only fund portions of many of the projects that were awarded this year.

Since 2021, the Clinton County Farm Bureau has awarded a total of $11,950 in Community Grants to local organizations.
