Members of the Clinton County Farm Bureau (CFB) Young Leader Committee recently made a $750 donation to the St. Rose Fire Department as part of their 2021 Farm Safety Grant program. Four county departments requested grants for equipment assistance totaling approximately $4,500. Items requested included extrication saws, emergency lighting, portable generators, and grain bin rescue equipment.
The Young Leaders offered matching grants to the departments, funding half of the equipment cost received from each department’s request. In total, $2,250 will be presented to four fire departments in Clinton County. $550 of those dollars came from the Farm Safety Grant by Illinois Farm Bureau and COUNTRY Financial, with the balance of funds awarded coming directly from the Young Leader Committee.
To-date, check presentations have now been coordinated with the St. Rose, Carlyle, and Hoffman Fire Protection Districts. An additional donation will be scheduled with the Clin-Clair department as soon as their equipment arrives.
