Clinton County Farm Bureau announces photo contest

The beauty (and even humor) of rural life comes into focus with Clinton County Farm Bureau’s second photo contest.  It’s a chance for you, as a member, to capture your favorite images showcasing the rich diversity of our county’s agricultural landscape and its people.  It’s a great way to show off your favorite photos, and maybe even win a prize.

The contest is for amateurs only and is open to Clinton County Farm Bureau members and their families, ages 6 and up.  Make sure your photos were taken in Clinton County sometime from 2022 through the contest deadline in 2023 (August 1^st).

There are two categories to inspire you:

• “The Next Generation of Farming” – Oftentimes we see several generations working side by side on the family farm. We see changes in technology and advancements in equipment. The future of our family farms shine in the eyes of our youngest generation following in the footsteps of their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.
• “Forces of Nature” – Storms, frozen water troughs, wind, flooding… farming can sure be tough! However, we also bear witness to beautiful sunrises, the smell of freshly cultivated soil, and the promise of a maturing crop.  We want to see submissions that show how nature interacts with our agricultural activity.

If that’s not enough, maybe some cash incentives will help get you going!  The 1^st place winner in each category will receive $50 cash; 2^nd place in each category gets $25; and “Peoples’ Choice” wins $75 (chosen through a social media/online campaign).

Winning photos will be published on the Farm Bureau page of the Union Banner, posted on our Facebook page and website, and displayed at our Annual Meeting in January 2024.  You may even find your submitted photo(s) utilized as local imagery on our organization’s website or other marketing pieces.
