Support Agriculture Education in Clinton County Adopt a Classroom with Ag in the Classroom (AITC)

The Clinton County Ag in the Classroom (AITC) program, a partnership between the Clinton County Farm Bureau and the Clinton County Soil & Water Conservation District, is inviting community members, businesses, and organizations to invest in the future of agriculture by participating in its Adopt a Classroom program for the 2026–27 school year.

Led by a dedicated volunteer committee, the Ag in the Classroom program brings agriculture and conservation education to local students through engaging, hands-on lessons. The program primarily serves first- and fourth-grade classrooms, introducing students to where their food comes from, the importance of agriculture, and the role farmers play in caring for the land and natural resources.

Through the Adopt a Classroom program, a $100 tax-deductible donation sponsors one classroom for the entire school year, providing educational materials and supplies for agriculture-based lessons. Donations above $100 are also welcome and help expand educational opportunities for additional classrooms.

Last year, generous support from local individuals, businesses, and organizations helped sponsor all 52 classrooms. The goal for the upcoming school year is to again provide every participating classroom with the resources needed to bring agriculture to life for students.

How the Program Works:

  • A $100 donation sponsors one classroom for the school year.
  • Sponsors may choose a specific classroom or be matched with one in need.
  • Sponsors will be recognized in Clinton County Farm Bureau publications, on the Farm Bureau website, and through social media during classroom visits.

Supporting Ag in the Classroom is an investment in the next generation. By helping students understand agriculture’s role in their daily lives, sponsors are encouraging agricultural literacy and fostering an appreciation for the farmers and families who produce our food, fiber, and fuel.
