Clinton CFB gives the “Gift of Blue” to 54 FFA Students

The Clinton County Farm Bureau (CFB) is awarding 54 FFA members the “Gift of Blue” as part of their 3rd annual FFA Jacket Essay Contest. The application asked Ag/FFA students a simple question, “Explain the main goal you wish to accomplish from being involved in FFA.”

Fifty-six (56) students completed the essay again this year. The Clinton CFB awarded jackets to 54 applicants, which included recipients from all five high school districts in the county. The two remaining applicants were awarded jackets through Growmark’s Gift of Blue Essay contest.

This contest was an opportunity for Clinton County High School agriculture students to have the Farm Bureau purchase their official FFA blue corduroy jacket. FFA Chapters will order the jackets this fall and be reimbursed by the Clinton CFB.

In three years of this program, the Clinton CFB has awarded 128 jackets to local, FFA students. At $60 per jacket (and shipping), the Farm Bureau has covered over $8,000 in expenses through their “Gift of Blue” effort.

Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients and good luck with your FFA experiences!
