Five (5) Young Leader Committee members from Clinton County attended the annual Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB) Young Leader Conference on January 20th-21st in East Peoria.
Tyne Morgan delivered the keynote speech to kick off the conference. In 2014, Tyne was named the first female Host of the U.S. Farm Report. She’s only the fourth host of the show, following Orion Samuelson, Max Armstrong, and John Phipps. Tyne works each week to bring viewers the latest agricultural and market-related news, by diving into stories she believes rural Americans want to hear most.
Motivational speaker Gary Guller provided the afternoon’s keynote. Gary was leader of the largest ever cross-disability group to reach Mt. Everest Base Camp and went on to reach the summit and became the first person with one arm to stand on top of the world!
During the conference, attendees could also choose from five tracks of workshops and 15 sessions covering topics such as succession planning, accounting programs, workforce recruitment, mental health, trade and supply chain outlook, financial education, IFB’s grassroots policy development process, and more.
The goal for the conference is to keep our members excited by the latest innovations in agriculture, informed about the ever-changing landscape in the industry, and equipped to be better farmers and leaders.
Young Leaders from Clinton County that attended the conference included: Kali Michael, Chelsey & Quinton Huelsmann, Vanessa Williams, and Lucas Hanke.
