04 Apr Young Leaders Host “FFA Quiz Bowl”
On March 22nd, all five (5) Clinton County FFA chapters participated in a “FFA Quiz Bowl” sponsored by the Clinton County Farm Bureau’s Young Leader Committee. Central High School in Breese hosted the event, which also included teams from Carlyle, Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School, Mater Dei, and Wesclin High School.
Students were asked multiple choice questions with four possible answers where they could buzz in with the correct answer to earn points for their team. Questions asked included subjects such as Agriculture Safety, Agriculture Mechanics, Animal Science, Crop Production, FFA, Natural Resources, and Agriculture Issues/Current Events.
In-between competitions, teams also enjoyed pizza and drinks, and had an opportunity to become more familiar with the Farm Bureau and the Young Leader Committee members. Prizes were awarded to students from the top three teams, but every participant and Advisor received t-shirts and other Farm Bureau freebies for participating.
A total of 40 students competed this year, with each team competing in two preliminary rounds before three teams advanced to the finals. This year’s winning teams were: Central Team # 1 (1st place), CORLHS Team # 1 (2nd place), and Carlyle Team # 1 (3rd place).

- Cara Carillon, Kierstan Lampe, Lauren Wolter, Grant Becker, and Cole Bruggemann from Central FFA won 1st place at the Farm Bureau’s FFA Quiz Bowl.

- Peyton Jett, Alivia Childress, Drew Lueking, Evan Beal, and Jensen Langenhorst from Christ Our Rock FFA took 2nd place in the recent “FFA Quiz Bowl” sponsored by the Clinton CFB Young Leader Committee.

- Nick Schomaker, Hunter Rich, Connor Wademan, Kylee Wesselmann, and Samantha Heinzmann from Carlyle FFA took third place in this year’s FFA Quiz Bowl at Central High School on March 22nd.
