Clinton County Farm Bureau Donates $250,000 to Launch 618 Event Center Campaign

The Clinton County Farm Bureau (CFB) is proud to announce a $250,000 donation to help kick off the fundraising campaign for the 618 Event Center, a transformative new facility set to begin construction this October at the Clinton County Fairgrounds in Carlyle.

What began as a grassroots vision to improve local livestock show facilities has evolved into a bold, community-driven initiative: a multi-purpose venue poised to drive economic development, attract regional tourism, and offer new opportunities to the area. The 618 Event Center, a 120’ x 450’ clear-span building, will serve a wide range of uses—including county fair events, additional livestock shows, heavy equipment training, regional sports competitions, and private functions.

“This is more than just a building—it’s a long-term investment in our community’s future,” said Mark Litteken, President of the Clinton County Farm Bureau. “We believe in the potential of this facility for Clinton County, and we’re proud to be part of a project that promotes agriculture, supports local businesses, and creates a space for growth, learning, and celebration.”

Inspired by a passionate group of community members committed to advancing the Clinton County Fair and the region as a whole, the 618 Event Center aims to establish Clinton County as a premier destination for events and innovation within the 618-area code.

The Clinton County Farm Bureau invites other individuals, businesses, and organizations to join this effort by becoming a “Partner in Progress.” Every contribution moves the community one step closer to making this visionary facility a reality.
