Hoffman Fire Protection District Awarded Safety Grant

The Clinton County Farm Bureau Young Leader Committee has awarded the second of its 2026 Equipment Grants to the Hoffman Fire Department.

Grant funds were used to purchase a multi gas meter and thermal imaging camera. The gas meter will be used to detect multiple gasses simultaneously and will be used in grain bin rescue missions. The camera will be used to detect heat emitted by objects and converts it into a visible image.

The Equipment Grant Program helps local departments purchase agriculture-related emergency response equipment. With agriculture at the heart of Clinton County, the program helps ensure rural emergency responders are prepared for the unique challenges they may face on the farm.

A total of $2,950 in grant funding will be awarded through the program this year, including support from an $800 Farm Safety Grant provided by Illinois Farm Bureau and COUNTRY Financial.
