Rep. Mike Bost Meets with Local Farmers to Discuss Agriculture Priorities

Farmers from Marion and Clinton Counties gathered recently to meet with U.S. Representative Mike Bost for a roundtable discussion on key issues impacting agriculture. Topics included the One Big Beautiful Bill, trade, the farm economy, and the estate tax, commonly referred to as the “death tax.”

The meeting was hosted at Walsh Farms and Trucking, where more than 50 local farmers came together to share their perspectives and learn more about federal policy. Marion County Farm Bureau and Clinton County Farm Bureau extend a big thank you to Walsh Farms and Trucking for graciously opening their farm to host this important conversation.

Rep. Bost emphasized his commitment to supporting agriculture and ensuring farmers’ voices are represented in Washington, D.C. Local leaders expressed their appreciation for his ongoing advocacy. “We thank Rep. Bost for his continued support of agriculture and farm families through the One Big Beautiful Bill,” said Farm Bureau representatives.

By engaging directly with area farmers, Rep. Bost reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between lawmakers and the agricultural community to strengthen the farm economy and protect the future of farming in southern Illinois.
