Join the Clinton County Farm Bureau on April 18 for a Southern Illinois Regenerative Bus Tour, hosted in partnership with the Southern Illinois Farmers for Soil Health. This interactive tour will take participants to several local farms implementing innovative regenerative practices that improve soil health and nutrient stewardship.
Participants will visit our local Cover Crop and Forage Plot and hear directly from farmers about their experiences with regenerative systems. Along the way, we’ll explore practical discussions on cover crop timing, termination strategies, and in-field management.
The tour will also include hands-on demonstrations such as soil penetrometer readings, water infiltration testing, and Brix testing, giving attendees the opportunity to see how these tools can help evaluate soil structure, plant health, and overall system performance in the field.
This tour is a great opportunity for farmers, landowners, and conservation-minded individuals to learn from peers, see real-world practices in action, and gain insights into building healthier soils.
